About the RRA

The Rhodesian Ridgeback Association of New Zealand was first established in November 2005 by a group of keen RR fanciers that saw a need for a pro-active club that would help promote and protect the Rhodesian Ridgeback breed in New Zealand.

Since that date the RRA has grown in numbers and has held a number of events covering all aspects of disciplines from Ribbon Parades, Open Shows, Lure Coursing Fun Days, Group Walks and various social events.

During this time, the RRA has seen its first NZ Grand Champion RR and the first NZ Champion Lure Coursing Champion RR be awarded.

The RRA is affiliated to the NZKC (New Zealand Kennel Club) and its objectives are:

  • To encourage the responsible breeding and exhibition of Rhodesian Ridgebacks conforming to New Zealand Kennel Club Standards.
  • To hold recognized shows and meetings.
  • To promote friendship and mutual support among Rhodesian Ridgeback owners, breeders and fanciers.
  • To promote the well-being and welfare of the Rhodesian Ridgeback breed of dogs in New Zealand.
